Yes, I suspect tomorrow he will receive an email informing him that if he books any further travel with BA within the next 2 (?) years, the reservation will be cancelled. So he will be fired as a customer, and depending on his personal and work circumstances that could be quite a punishment. Unfortunately it's not unusual for the police just to release a drunken passenger without charges. Annoying though they undoubtedly were, it's trickier than it looks to deal with, since dealing with someone's drink problem via the legal system is rarely efficient or effective.
