So he will be fired as a customer, and depending on his personal and work circumstances that could be quite a punishment. Unfortunately it's not unusual for the police just to release a drunken passenger without charges. Annoying though they undoubtedly were, it's trickier than it looks to deal with, since dealing with someone's drink problem via the legal system is rarely efficient or effective.
