if you redeem an award ticket (not MR, not Pay by Points, but the airline's frequent flyer program) but paid the two one-ways / one round-trip award ticket fees with Amex Plat card , then you are only eligible for 1), but not for 2)? I have a damaged checked-in bag and trying to see what I can qualify to claim
thank you
definitely not baggage.
Im no insurance expert, to be sure, but by my reading of the terms for trip delay/interruption, they seem ambiguous enough that I’ve always assumed FF redemption tickets wouldn’t qualify for coverage there either. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to be proven wrong - but I ain’t gonna be the test case. It clearly indicates, for example, tickets using FF-issued vouchers, which I take to mean things like UA ETCs or FFCs, or Delta eCredits, with the balance paid using Amex would be covered. I’d think if FF award tickets were intended to be covered, they would have clearly stated that in the area where they talk about vouchers, etc. I may have missed it, as well, but I have not seen a report either way of someone on an award ticket who filed a claim and has been either approved or denied. Again, would love to be proven wrong.
