We are starting to regret booking a stay for March. I am attempting to verify the free shuttle schedule as well as book private arrival pickup and am being told by Ambassador Service that nothing can be done as no employees of hotel are available until March 11 when the hotel reopens. I guess we will book arrival via a third party water taxi service if they cannot respond.
If you are arriving to the airport and want to go straight to JW you will need to do a paid transfer anyway. You don't need to book it through the hotel, you can book in advance yourself by several companies online that offer this water taxi service, as well as on arrival at the airport.
If arriving to the train station or by car to the parking lot you can take the public water bus to St Marks square a s transfer to their free shuttle there, but this is a hassle IMO with luggage.

I'm sorry to say, but in this case the Ambassador is uninformed. JW offers complimentary shuttle between their island and St Marks Square.
