My issues started around 2021 when I restarted travel after COVID. 'Seek Assistance' was presented 100% of the time when using either of my passports (I have 2 active UK passports).
I eventually asked the border force agent why I was experiencing this issue, as previously I never had an issue. His response was that someone who shared a similar name and identical DOB, (and presumably nationality) was on a 'person of interest' list. He also said until that issue resolved itself, I would continue to be flagged at the e-gates.
Around early 2023, I tried the e-gates on the off chance and they started to work again, and conitnue to work till now. I assume they caught up with the person of interest.
Did you ever submit a complaint about your passport not working at the e-gates?
