As I and several others on this thread know, anyone who has a name that’s common and happens to match someone they are looking for will have their passport rejected 100% of the time at all UK entry points including Eurostar.
It’s frustrating to be told by border guards (and respected FT members) that it’s technique.
My wife has stood behind the desk when my passport was scanned and a face pops up that’s *clearly* not me.
They never quibble. But LCY the guards are a bit more honest than elsewhere about the reason.
