No/Yes As MQD do not rollover, if you are Diamond and are electing status extension, there is no benefit to selecting MQD option unless you won't earn PM otherwise and want the PM CB. Need be careful if doing this, any MQD above PM will be wasted MQD, as MQD do not rollover. Also if you end up under PM MQD, any MQD elected would be wasted. (As reaching GM MQD confers no additional benefits)

Note anyone is free to update a Wiki if they've been on FT long enough and/or have enough posts.
I had not thought of this option, and you are correct. I had been referring to using MQM rollover for annual DM status, but still earning MQDs to get PM choice benefits. For us, hitting the PM MQD level via credit card spend and normal travel patterns is not difficult. Where I miscalculated was that we combined the spend for my wife, not realizing that this year she gets PM choice benefits due to 2 MM status. If anything, we should have combined the spend on my card.

For this year, for us, I need to revisit and determine if the PM organically earned 4 RUCs are worth it, or just downgrade the cards to blue. We get club access via Amex Platinum. Next year though, we’d need the reserve cards again for club access.

I pay attention to this, but obviously not enough.
