Exclamation Hi! and lessons learned...

I'm a newbie, so a "Hello" goes out to everyone.

Just to let all of you know:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I missed my flight home the other night, affecting another tix I had for the following morning.

I phoned SWA to cancel the tix for the following morning and tried to apply the credits towards a full fare tix home the following morning. I didn't have the confirmation # and SWA refused to look up the confirmation #, thus preventing me from using those credits for a tix home. This was over the phone and the tix I had wanted to cancel was purchased by leftover credits from a previously cancelled tix.

SWA would apply only the credits from the flight I had missed that night because I had the confirmation #, and I had to fork out $$'s to make up the difference for a last minute full fare home for the following morning. They wouldn't touch the tix I had wanted to cancel for the following morning without a confirmation #, citing security reasons.

Fortunately, it wasn't that much...had it been, a Greyhound bus would have been very, very attractive!!!

I'm not sure if this would have happened had I been at the airport in-person in the morning; but at the time, I believe the airport was closed for the night.

Anyone with a difference experience, in-person at the airport?

Anyhow, when I landed back into my home airport the next morning, I went to a kiosk and scanned my RR card and was able to print out the itinerary of the the tix I had wanted to cancel the night before for the credits to get home...this was hours after that bird had already left the airport. It did have the confirmation code on it.

So, if you want the confirmation code and had forgotten it, I believe you can print out the itinerary with the confirmation code at the appropriate airport's kiosk on the day of what was suppose to be your trip, even though you had missed your flight.

And, don't forget to carry confirmation #'s on every trip, even vacations, just in case, so I've learned.
