If its the intention of B6 to compete with the legacies by introducing an F, or MINT Jr. cabin, then they need to offer comparable or better meal service.
JetBlue has no intention of competing on that level. Even Mint doesn't have some basic things that other carriers have (lounge access, CLEAR in every terminal, a curtain separating J from Y). I would expect to see their F experience on routes where they are the only or majority nonstop option. Especially some of the routes that are otherwise very long Delta Connection or American Eagle (for example) routes. Remember that Delta is a legacy and JetBlue is a LCC -- they are forced to compete with each other due to geography, but they have different customer bases.

My thought is that this is part of it. Fewer seats on the plane means fewer people to deal with, and premium pax theoretically means more airports crewmembers are empowered to fix things when there's a problem. Alternatively, they are giving up on the operation and trying to do the next best thing
