Since I had eaten in the FL, and this was a between meals flight, decided to go for the cold “Pesto Pasta Salad” and it wasn’t a good choice. The pasta and “pesto” was absolutely flavorless, the mozzarella was actually dry and had an odd smell (I don’t know how you can make mozzarella dry, but AA somehow managed to), and the only thing tasty were the two artichokes that were part of the starter. Further, there were some lackluster service issues, with the meal being served before drinks (and no drinks offered with the meal of course), and no nuts served. Could this have been because I was in the rear J cabin on a 772, like is the SOP for domestic non-flagship 772/77W J service to send out the meal cart before the drink cart to the rear cabin?
