Thanks. My idea was to only have the rollaboard and no personal item so that it's easier to stay within the 12kg limit. But I just measured the Samsonite and it seems AF wants the bag to be 55x35x25, which is 5 cm narrower than most (?) airlines. My bag has a width of 36 cm. I guess I'll just take a smaller bag and try to cram everything into it then and forget the rollaboard altogether.

I'm used to AY & TK not bothering about elite pax' carry-ons, and now that I'm trying to move away from AY as they keep getting worse and worse in so many ways, it proves to be quite difficult with all these hoops one has to jump through as a statusless nobody on an unfamiliar airline. I'll only be away for four nights, so the rollaboard is not a must, but this also means that I can't really consider AF for future trips where I might need to have it with me. Too risky.
