Thanks! That’s really useful. We are coming home via Sydney for a few days so will definitely get an Australian Visa beforehand, but sounds like if we are hand baggage only we possibly don’t need to go through immigration (if I have understood the comments correctly) so feels like this will significantly reduce the risk of missing the flight. I fully appreciate there is still a risk, but probably one worth taking. I have been following the other thread about the poor person who looks to have missed their BA16 flight home with interest and enormous sympathy!

At the moment there is Avios availability for the Qantas Wellington flight but only in J which I understand is not lie flat but looks to be a step up from BAs Club Europe so think we will book these.
