Since HK Express is already way over 2019 capacity (maybe more than 200%) the comment can be very misleading for people who think that it is for CX. Indeed the CX fleet has shrunk with the disposal of a bunch of old A330s so it may not be possible for CX to get back to 2019 capacity before receiving some 777-9s.
yeah they basically don't want to admit the embarassing truth that SQ has overtaken and secured its position as Asia's number one international airline by size. A title CX had since 2006 if not longer. Based on the fleet plan CX is not going to get to 2018 levels till 2027 if it survives.
