Its a total scam, I booked a couple of hotels via the chase portal, when I got to each hotel, both places had a booking conf and both listed expedia. Basically chase has a shell company, likely charging higher in some areas yet using expedia.

If Im not mistaking, if you used to book via the portal it was very similar to booking via the airline or hotel group, where you would be able to earn points as you would have when booked via hotel/airline website. I guess that is gone now too…
