It can be hard to let go of the notion of fixed priced awards per the published chart, with any changes announced months in advance, when that was the system for so many years.

And I do think there's value in noting ongoing devaluations, if for no other reason than to encourage people to value their stash of miles, UA status, and the MP program in general, realistically. Because the value of all of the above is much, much lower than it was 5 years ago.
