just a quick follow-up on my situation for the next person this happens to and finds this thread. I was able to log on this morning, so 4 days later like the agent said but less than 96 hours later. I had my 2FA verification code sent via email like I usually do, and then logged off and back on again and I did not get locked out again even though the agent said I would since she claimed it was because I used text the last time, and if I used email again I'd get another 4 day lockout. I did not try to log off and then have it sent via text as I need to do some more bookings and don't to risk it even though I suspect the agent is wrong and it's something else that caused me to get locked out.
During this whole time of being locked out using my browser I have had access via the app and was even able to make a booking on my app using points yesterday.

With how the Marriott website is, it's a good idea to stay logged in the app just incase something goes wrong.
