Before the pandemic, I used to book most of my flights through Expedia. That was very much a third party, yet my flight-only purchases would always be shown the same as if I'd made the purchase directly with the airline.
Airlines are unique in the credit card space as each airline has their own Merchant Category Code (MCC), so bookings processed and ticketed by an agency in a GDS using regular ARC/BSP settlement would use that airline's MCC for the transaction, which would reflect on your statement like that.

My current employer uses Navan and AA fares being returned to us are not NDC (no special corp discounts either). Not sure if its a configuration we have or it's been overlooked or something.
