Before being called Enclave, it was the Premium section for a lot of Caribbean Hilton Hotels with AI. I used it when it was still called Premium, in 2021 and 2022 at Hilton La Romana (2021 Adult side, 2022 Family side).
In the end It's like Premium Economy vs Economy: smaller section, better food & service.
Is it worth it? Only the person making booking has the answer since everyone has its own preferences.

Was the property a zoo? Well, I guess it depends from which period one goes. We're not talking about properties like Waldorf or Conrad where there are surely less people/families going compared with mid level resorts with AI.
My 2021 experience is not valid to compare because it was still inside the covid tests and travel restriction period and the resort was almost empty (bliss). In the 2022 there were a lot more people but using the Premium benefits we didn't have issues to dine or find shadowed beach chairs. That was one of the reason for choosing it.
