Also, your post reminded me that X fares (business class) only get 70% credit. I just snagged some X seats for my family to the US later this year, and the fares are astronomical compared to most J fares just a couple years ago. My X tickets are only slightly cheaper than the I fares (and way more expensive than Y) but I'm getting the same mileage as someone on a discounted Y ticket.

It just makes me even more glad that I gave up on airline loyalty a long time ago. My relationship with the airlines now is purely transactional. I don't chase status or mileage bonuses anymore. I use miles when and where I can, but I don't go out of my way to do so.
