No bags so no counter check-in, iPhone boarding pass to get through the access point, no ID check at security itself (which upon reflection seems a bit odd), and by the time boarding was starting I found I had left my passport in a bag stored at my hotel. Tried using other official IDs as it’ was not an international flight, but no-go and I didn’t even know it until I was at the gate unable to board. That’s the only time I’ve gotten as far as the gate and not been able to board. .
Not that uncommon, globally, that domestic flights don’t require ID at security checkpoints, or at all. They just want to know you are not carrying any dangerous stuff, not who you are.
In this case, TSA
doesn’t even require ID from a 17-year-old.
