Has anyone had any success with BA's email based 2FA? Do the codes normally show up quickly?

Related scenario of a locked account today;
I tried to login with password manager sourced credentials (so I know they're good) and immediately got the "we need to confirm your identify" screen. Website forces you to request a code by email. The code is taking about 25 minutes to show up with a major email provider (so lets assume it's not a delay on their site and other email arriving as normal). Going back to BA with the code and selecting a new password immediately, the website quickly declares the code has expired! Tries this several times throughout the day.

I noticed on my 5th attempt that you can expand an option to request an SMS instead, but 15 minutes later that hasn't shown up either. Will try again tomorrow but it's all a bit rubbish.

PS - is there a BA website woes thread I'm missing somewhere? I've scan read the dashboard and forum search but couldn't see it.
