Fwiw, I thought it might be a good idea to have some kind of more comprehenisve master thread/sticky regarding various end-of-status year questions that tend to come up, some of which are addressed in their own threads and some of which are not. Maybe someone else can consider taking that on -- I only had the energy to make a post specifically about the credit card spend rule, mostly because I've seen a lot of confusion on this issue and I'm tired of making the same correction in different threads.
