Doesn't LAX utilize newer tech where you don't have to scan your boarding pass, and just need to present your ID? I assume the phone comment is retrieving your boarding pass? TSA has all of those info already, even if you have multiple flights from the same airport
I have been to LAX 8 times already this year, but have not had the opportunity to utilize this. Been through T6 security twice last week on consecutive days flying AS, and the rest were all self connect transfers.
