Just to clarify something for those who may not be aware - you are not purchasing an NZD/AUD fare in the above example. You are purchasing a one-way USD fare which has been converted using whatever IATA's rate of exchange is. Often this RoE is a bit worse than what you might get from your CC provider, so it may be better to just pay in USD.
While it's technically correct that fares originating in the US are priced in USD per FJ's CoC, FJ's NZD and AUD pricing is a (more or less) direct conversion from the USD amount.
Further, in Oz and NZ at least most credit cards generally charge a forex fee of about 2-3%, which is considerably more than the small currency fluctuation that may be present.
In the case of HNL-CHC for example, it's $US579 ($NZ951 at Mastercard's current currency conversion rate) v $NZ949 on FJ's site, before any foreign transaction fee. It's a big plus of the FJ website that you can book fares originating OS without being slugged for foreign transaction fees.
