Pricing every day is different, but unless it’s a specific peak day, you should be able to do better for £300-350ish. There are usually 2-3 weekends or dates a year where it’s every hotel which is nuts.

That makes more sense to me. Perhaps it's that it's the week before the Olympics. It's stupid that the prices in London would be higher for an event in Paris though. I imagine prices may temper as it gets within a few months and Marriott's greed results in less bookings, but I guess I'll find out if that's true.

Every time I've checked Bankside, it's ridiculously priced. I think even £350 is ridiculous, but £500? Wow. That's just throwing money away.
