Then there's airplanes that are just a pain in general for cabin temperature. The crj900 for example tends to be cold in the front and warm in the back. It has one cabin temperature control and only one temperature sensor mid cabin.

Also weird that there is no volume control for the PA system. I have often wondered (on many flights, with different airlines) why the FAs wouldn’t adjust the volume when flight deck announcements were not loud enough. Now I know. But still … weird design.

The climate control does make sure the cabin temp set at X will be at X where the sensors are.
The problem then is when you either do or don't add about 160 humans in the cabin, the rest of the cabin — where the sensors aren't — can change much more significantly.
