Man it really matters who you get at checkin as a diamond. Last time we checked in the guy offered us a villa or a great room in ocatilla. This time I had 3 reservations since it’s how it worked out with my free night bookings. The middle one got auto upgraded 72 hours out but nothing else did. Showed up and was told nothing was available but I could pay for beyond the 1 category upgrade. I mentioned that we’d move 3 times if we had to in order to take advantage of the upgrade and it was amazing how fast she found another room that wasn’t a base room. I know they are known for not upgrading beyond 1 category here but I got a chuckle out of it. Hotels really will do anything to avoid turning a room over more than they have to.
