That having been said, when/if TIMATIC gets updated to reflect the January 11 announcement, I'd be comfortable with any of your three options.
Would my last statement hold true if we disregards SZX, let us say I want to fly ICN-PEK / PEK-PVG / PVG-LAX booked as three separate tickets across three different airlines all within 24 hours. Would that be allowed? Could I hypothetically fly ICN-PEK and then close to 24 hours later from the PEK arrival depart on PVG-LAX, and during that time could fly around China on different airlines across different airports?

Might seem crazy to you all, but as an aviation enthusiast I chase different aircraft/airlines/airports!

I know SZX has been an exception to the TWOV, but thought that was changing?
