I'd say the Digital Key doesn't work about 60% of my stays. I check in on-line, get into the hotel and when I try to use the Digital Key the message is "Your Digital Key is being prepared"...so I have to wait in line behind everyone else. Just last weekend I specified my arrival time as 3 PM, chose a room, arrived at 3:45 PM, "Digital key is being prepared.." waited behind someone with a very complicated transaction and.."Oh, your room isn't ready yet". I got another room- I'm not that picky- but what's the point of choosing a room if they're not going to have it ready? Digital key didn't work till the next morning and then the app wouldn't allow checkout. I wonder if I'll even get the bonus for using the digital key. Hilton really needs to get its IT act together.

Interesting point about the entire inventory not being available- I have an overnight with my grandchildren coming up and they LOVE choosing the room the day before. I won't disillusion them. They're pretty much happy as long as the pool is open and they can get ice cream treats in the shop in the lobby.
