I've looked through reviews and this thread, but it seems like there's not much recent consensus except that the Chambers lounge is probably the nicer or at least less crowded lounge. I have platinum so I'd have to book the Chambers room to get access to that lounge since I doubt I'll win the SNA lottery. I'm looking at arriving at LCY and leaving from LHR in July for a few nights and was wondering if there's any reason to pick Bankside vs JW Grosvenor House vs St Pancras Renaissance. JW rooms and St Pancras Chambers room are both quite similarly quite expensive i.e. 1000GBP/night which is a bit ludicrous. Bankside is cheaper around 500GBP/night so if it's on par and a decent location, I'll probably go with that. It also has a rate that just says ID required with no explanation of what ID so I imagine I'm not eligible for it, but figured I'd ask if anyone here knows what ID they are referring to? On the other hand, I did not like the Westin last time I was in London and the Bankside location is close to that albeit across the river.

A restful room with breakfast and refreshments within reasonable distance from some of the sights are my main aim. We're going to one show, but it seems the theatres are practically equidistant from those hotels. Being next to the park seemed nice for JW so I initially went with that, but I am tempted to save some money at Bankside. I am curious when these hotels got so ridiculously expensive. I guess inflation and Brexit aren't working out that well, or is it just demand in the summer? Commence providing your words of wisdom and insight.
