Are you wedded to flying Delta? I see that -- at least on some days -- Southwest offers direct service from GEG to SNA (one stop, no change of planes).

If you book Delta via SEA and mis-connect, DL is obligated to get you to SNA on a later flight -- perhaps on Delta, perhaps on a different carrier.
