Agreed. On my last trip through the temporary "First Wing" line they were insisting we scanned. I tried the "my phone is already packed away" and I was told to get it out as it was "a compulsory part of the security check". Wasn't in the mood for an argument at 6am so just did what I was told. Ridiculous.
