It's misleading and dishonest by HAL for sure, but you will have had the boarding pass ready seconds earlier to get through the scan point - so I really don't see it as an inconvenience worth arguing over.
yes it very much is worth it, and yes i continue to do so.
you can choose to deal with this issue however you wish. as for me, i have given my reasons before e.g. here
