I have deliberately booked a stopover to gain from this promotion, but when I entered the PNR it said it was ineligible (it clearly was). I emailed the stopover team and they said they would pay it for me, which they duly did, and sent me a payment reference and that was that. I then went back on to the website and it allowed me to select a hotel, so I thought that their payment had unlocked the availability for me. So I chose Traders hotel anmd left it there. A week later they came back and said that they had cancelled my booking because they had already a stopover reservation against that booking. Long story short, they had unilaterally booked me into a hotel of their choice. When I asked to transfer the booking to the Hotel we had actually chosen they said that they would have to cancel the current reservation and I would then need to re-seachfor availability and that there might not be an there!! What an absolute farce this program is.
