(rhetorical, clearly), now about that project you're working on with Client X, where are we at with that?
I understand that every business and situation is different. And there are definitely situations where the employer is rightly peeved (like if the employee is expected to work right after an overnight flight). But I’m always baffled by the people that employee people presumably worth enough to spring for a business class ticket and then fire them over the first thing like this.
