I was moved to first by flight attendant just before push back on PDX-KOA in January. I know the upgrade had been processed by the gate agent as they spit my PNR to process the upgrade. They would have probably skipped me, but all the passengers after me also were couples(probably companion fares). My wife told me to move without her so I took the upgrade. The fact my moving left her in the window seat with an empty middle rather than a full row for the flight might have influenced her some.
