I think today's reality is that you'll have to avoid a lot more than just those three (or buy a through ticket). It's probably now quicker to list the airlines that still interline off separate tickets than those that don't.

I suspect this was inevitable - we know with pretty much every customer-unfriendly measure, once one airline bites the bullet and blinks, the others (particularly in North America) will inevitably follow.

Is it sad that AS, who i'd still regard as the most customer-centric airline in oneworld, have gone down this path? Of course. But equally those affected by it should probably be glad it lasted even this long.
