I know the interlining helped with large baggage and bags with liquids. But what about baggage that can pass through security, then when the gate agents say they need a hundred bags to be gate checked? Agents always say “we’ll check your bag to your final destination.”
They will probably gate-check just to the end of the itinerary that the flight without overhead is on. And then it's upon
you to make it to bag claim, get it back, and make it back through security for your next flight on another itinerary.
