The thing with AS is that it has this faux mystique that has been created by QR marketing and aviation bloggers. Regular readers of this thread will obviously know it has many many flaws. Service and food has always been hit or miss, booze quality has gone absolutely downhill, and the shower situation…..lol. Unless you have a private room with an en-suite bath or are able to snag a jacuzzi room, the showers are just weird, and frankly I’d take a run off the mill AA AC shower than the unventilated saunas that are in AS, diptyque products be damned. Is it better than 90% of airline lounges, yes. But if one goes in with the expectations that QR and airline bloggers set, one is inevitably going to be disappointed.
