Also seems the seat has a slightly wider entry point, so a bit easier to get in or out. However be aware, there is significant noise from the galley which may disturb light sleepers on overnight flights. Also, the crew on my flight kept the dividing curtain between the cabin and gallery open until i kindly requested it to be closed. I've now traveled on all the window bulkhead seats and can't honestly say there's a significant difference between them. They all have significant extra legroom when compared to standard seats. In the front cabin you do risk a baby as there is a bassinet connection in row 1.My go to seat till now has been 2L but maybe now it will be 9L, but only if I can be sure of no last minute equipment swap.Hope it's helpful 🙏🏼
Great write-up. Recently flew 2A on HEL-HND and 9L on HND-HEL. I concur with your thoughts on 9L - the galley noise wasn’t ideal and the galley light also managed to hit my eyes just about perfectly while trying to sleep on my left or back. Should’ve asked the cabin crew to close the curtains but instead opted to sleep on my right, wherein I happily drifted off to sleep for the next 9 or so hours. As for footwell differences between A and L, I wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. My height’s around 185 cm and I slept comfortably on my left or right side regardless of whether it was an A or L footwell.

As for the other differences with the forward and secondary cabins, the presence of the center overhead bins coupled with the trolleys going out to PE/(Y?) during service made a somewhat noticeable impact on the feel of the space. I don’t mind it, particularly with plenty of (rather pragmatic) Y flights under my belt, but it may affect the ‘exclusivity’ of the space if that’s something that matters to the reader.
