That would be my assumption as well too. That's how things work with AA, CX, and I think AY too, IIRC.

I choose AS over AA on the West Coast. Their staff seem to have a better culture and I never have an issue getting points posted (Platinum Qantas and lifetime gold O/W). Access to their lounges is helpful though they tend to have small lounges (LAX is tiny given the amount of flying they do especially to Mexico). Their F fares can be affordable and I like their E-170 Womble-jets.
I find a bit of their digital stuff is very US-centric, not recognising overseas phone numbers.
