Planning on flying from SFO to India thru Air India, but I'm from AUS. Was thinking of booking AUS to SFO on AS separately and saw that AS can transfer bags. However, the new policy is just like AA's, so I was wondering if there was any success with this. It's a 9.5 hour layover in SFO, so plenty of time.
