Hi. *A Gold (TK) booked on SFO-YVR (UA# operated by AC) with a companion and tkts issued by UA (016). Would it be possible to STBY on the same day for a LATER flight on UA?
I will never understand the concept of standing by for a
later flight. What if you don't clear?
If you miss your flight, UA will try to rebook you. As far as proactive standby, there is one board member who insists that this is absolutely SOP and a completely sane thing to want to do, but I've never heard any other experiences.
