Although I admit that $18.- for an undershirt is expensive, someone concedes that the damage to one's own standing by being "seen" with a plastic bag might have cost them even more....
Well one has to make a choice in life.

I am always amazed by many Fters who want to stay at 5* hotels but expect prices of a Motel6.... You can either afford to stay at such properties or not.

The next time you go to Paris, get yourself a small Vuitton bag (the expensive one OR the fake one, very cheap..., as you wish) and walk around the corner and do your laundry yourself for €6-8.-

The other alternative would be to get a room at the local Ibis Hotel. You'll sleep quite well for the $70.- you'll pay and your laundry will cost you a fraction of that of the Hyatt
