I've stayed at the Gran Hotel, Hampton Inn, Zocalo Central and a few smaller hotels right at the zocalo and it was the same thing every time. Everything practically shuts down early. The only reason to stay at the zocalo is because of a festival, event etc at the zocalo in my opinion.
I don't plan on going out in the evening so likely we'll just do the touristy stuff during the day and then head back to the hotel after dinner. Circulo isn't talked about often on here so that's why I'm now a little bit hesitant, despite the good reward redemption.

edit: Apparently the hotel is on a one way street so it makes it difficult for Uber pick up and drop offs.
