Progress in aligning GGL and CK difficult owing to IT constraints, unlikely to be part of any announcement. Current BA CEO (unlike previous one) sees GGL tier as important group of customers and will improve support for them, over time. Evolution not revolution.
The possibility of a distinct tier within the OW framework was mentioned some time ago on here, I wonder if that is still in the works.
A soft-landing to Gold (if soft-landings survive, and if they are talking about IAG loyalty alignment my understanding is that there is no soft landing with IB) would certainly be a benefit to some.

I don't have any info on this but my impression was that it was an entirely fabricated idea that originated on FT.

If they care about too many people being Gold or GGL or whatever, they might look at a change to TP earning levels, and the obvious target would seem to be no renewal of the holiday double TPs offer at the end of the year.
But it has apparently been significantly revenue generating for BA, so I wouldn't bet against it becoming permanent. Just think of how relatively less popular ex-EU routes are on here compared to the past.
I was just looking at CW flights to JFK: £1650 ex-CDG or DUB, or £2100 ex-EDI. £450 for an extra 360 TPs with no extra time spent in airports (!) is a bit of a no-brainer for many people, I suppose.

There seemed to be an overall fall in GGL numbers post-covid, and along with reduced opportunities to earn F level TPs (i.e. 210) because of the reduced number of F seats, and a general impression that the CCR is not overly busy, it would seem somewhat unnecessary to change current levels of renewal. Plus there are clearly some who may miss renewal with the TP year end changes.

But then, if people think they are going to start to get e.g. consistent attention from the CCT, then of course the requirements are going to have to go up.
In addition, every year there are more GGLfLs being added at a rate I assume is higher than those falling off the end.
