It's hard to make a mistake getting off the plane and being guided to the connection area.
It's also pretty foolproof to find the Galleries North and South lounges in T5A.
But I always seem to miss the entrance to the fast track security at the connections area. I seem to recall there was a visual guide somewhere on here. It might be helpful to OP (and to me) if anyone knows where it is.
I end up getting filtered through connections to a point past where the fast track entrance is and there is then no option but to go up the escalators to normal security.
Not that this has been too bad in reality.
My recollection is that there always seems to be some building work or something which is messing with the normal flow.
I would also note that although 3 hours between one flight landing and another taking off sounds like a long layover I think in reality it is not that long, only about 90 minutes more than most would call the bare minimum.
You will have time for a quick shower and a few nibbles and it will seem like no time before you need to go to the gate.
