Regardless of the Russia issue, is there demand? Looking at today's SFO-PEK and PVG, they departed wide open - around 30/60 in J and 4/24 in O. The China-US flights were a little higher, but still ~15-20 open seats in J and nearly all open in O.
Flights are wide open next week and the week after that every day in both directions.
Not sure there's much need to add a lot of additional capacity
Today might not be a good representation of demand as Chinese New Year was 4 days ago, which means many Chinese visiting home would have flew already, and China is on a week long break this week which means few business travelers. I looked at SFO-HND for a few days and there are 15+ open seats in J also.
