Your experience was identical to one I just had on ET 574 from ADD to ORD on an old style 787-8 aircraft. Uncomfortable seats with no padding, broken entertainment system with very few movies. ET and AI must use the same vendors for maintenance and soft goods. The food was so so, the Ethiopian food was good but the rest was average. ET has been using the same amenity kit for 8 years.
