I realise that some police are armed but it does make me feel unsettled when they are involved in routine activities. Seems to be creating a barrier between the police and the public that is unnecessary.

I also don’t like seeing police dressed in combat type gear popping into Tesco for their sandwich at lunchtime. Again, creating a barrier.

Armed police on an aeroplane to deal with drunks is not proportionate; if it were consider to be so there would be tanks on the streets in most city centres on Friday and Saturday nights!
