If it is T4 at JFK you can enter with any airline ticket, you just need to leave time to transfer to T7 or T8 since you’ll need to clear security again. Note T4 has Clear so if you have that you’ll get through T4 security very quickly. Not directly related but you can not enter T1 or T8 without tickets for airlines flying from those terminals, but you can enter T4.
